This weekend I celebrated my birthday! In addition to spending the day with the people I love most in the world, I collected the materials I need for the project I’ve been planning to do for some time now.
As I’ve mentioned before, I’ve fallen in love with long-armed cross-stitch. I started a sampler back in February but found my linen to be a bit too open leaving the work looking kind of sloppy. And I didn’t like the colors I’d chosen, either.
This weekend was a do-over. I picked the silks I wanted, in the colors I liked and started working on a smaller count ground. So far, I’m loving this project! I’ve only gotten a bit stitched but one the pattern is easier to see, I’ll post pics. In the meantime, I highly recommend this site for inspiration and information. I absolutely adore it! Kathryn Goodwin’s work on this topic is epic. Working on my own humble sampler leaves me feeling as though I’m standing on the shoulders of a giant in this area of research!!
I mentioned once before that I had other persona-related questions that I’d like to explore in the future. My sweet hubby just put up a lovely post on leadership and, if you get a chance, hop on over and take a peek. It’s just great…not that I’m biased or anything. 🙂
Can't wait to see pics of your work 🙂
