This is sort of a drive-by post. I’m about hip-deep in some sewing. My kirtle is coming along nicely though I’ve discovered that I completely suck at hand sewn eyelets. One can only hope I get better at this though, frankly, after doing 10 and knowing I have 30 more to go the odds are not in my favor. 😦
My daughter has decided that, rather than follow me into the land of the Flemish working woman, she wants to head into the land of Italian garb. That’s actually okay with me because it has fewer moving parts than the Flemish gown.
I’m also in the throes of making my daughter’s Halloween costume. That’s right, kids. Every year I make my kid’s costume. She’s eight years old….that’s a lot of costumes. Some years are easier than others. This year she wants to be Felicity from the American Girl Collection.
I’ll have pics up soonish….if I don’t drown in all this fabric or die of eyelet frustration. 😉
find a friend who doesn't mind doing eyelets and swap some services? I'm sure thats what medieval people would have done

Ooh…I like the way you think! 🙂 Honestly, even though I complain I think it's best I do them myself. It's the only way I'll ever get better at the damn things. So far I have 22 complete and they're looking a bit more even…or maybe I'm just imagining that. 😉
