Yesterday was such a lovely day!  The weather was beautiful.  Windy, but beautiful!  Spending with family and friends is always a good thing.

So, here’s an action shot of the completed green over-gown.  Besides the fact that the gown still needs more tweaking, I really should work on my posture!  Geez!  Look at that slouch!  Any way, the dress was super comfy to wear and perfect for the weather we had.  As it warmed up, I just rolled up my sleeves and eventually just took them off.  Interestingly enough the thing I got the most compliments on was the partlet!  In all truth, it’s probably my favorite part of the ensemble, too.  There’s just something neat about a black wool partlet.  Makes you feel all fancy and neat.

And speaking of things fancy and neat, I picked up these gorgeous pieces from Fire Horse Pottery.

Look how beautiful these are.  Seriously.  Will I be brewing a pot of tea for myself tonight?  You bet your sweet butt I will.  I’ll be sipping my tea to calm my nerves while I contemplate the complete craziness of what my friend Dianora has gotten me into.  Okay, that’s not fair.  I do have freewill and I did agree to it.  But she made it sound so fun!  And tempting!  And fun!  What is it?

Well, both of us are accepting the challenge and we’ve entered IRCC3.  I’m excited/nervous and all that, but I really love the idea of having a deadline to work toward.  And something new to try out.  I’ve made some completely craptastic ‘Italian-based’ gowns in the past so this is a chance to redeem myself.  I hope.  Even if I don’t finish in the allotted time, I’m still thrilled to be a part of the whole thing.  And Realm of Venus is just an awesome site to begin with.  Explore away!

Since I’m taking up that challenge, I’ll be starting a dress diary here to chart my progress.  I’m considering moving my blog over to a different format as well.  I’ve been thinking about doing that for awhile, but we’ll see.  Still mulling that on over.  And I have it on good authority that my friend who got me into this is starting her own little blog.  Watch out, world!  Once she’s live I’ll post the link and I hope you’ll drop in a visit.  She’s a lace making demon!

Off to plot, plan and pattern, the three Ps of any sewing project!  Hope you all have a wonderful week!
