Busy, busy month of May

May kicks us in the teeth around here.  School is out for my baby and it’s her birthday, just around the same time, too!  The lovely thing about the super small school she attends is that she gets out about a week earlier than the public schools.  I’m always so happy when she’s home.  I love spending the summer with my girl.  I like doing crafts with her, planning short trips together, just hanging out.  She goes to Girl Scout camp the early part of June, we have family stuff the first part of August and everything in between is ours.  But first, she turns 9.  On Monday.  Be still, my heart.

But on Friday, I was out running errands.  (I think that’s what a lot of stay at home moms spend a lot of time doing.  Running really dumb errands.  For me, it’s usually things I’ve forgotten to do.  Sort of last minute stuff.)  Anyway, as I was coming home, I saw a sign for an estate sale.  Honestly, I don’t like estate sales.  Mostly because they make me feel really sad.  I find myself thinking about the person who’s no longer there…it just goes downhill from that point on.  This particular Friday, however, I decided to man up and stop in for a peek.  I’m glad I did!  I walked out with some really wonderful finds.

The first is this sweet bed and stroller.  My daughter was thrilled with these.  She’s way too tall for the stroller, but it didn’t matter in the least.  As long as her American Girl dolls fit, all was right with the world.

Then I found this pin.  I love this pin.  I don’t know why other than the fact that’s it’s pretty, and that’s enough for me.  Looks pretty cunning on my ripped jeans, too.  😉

I’ve been working on my IRCC 3 entry and the update will be on it’s own little page.  Lots of hand sewing and fixing of patterns.  I’ve enjoyed the process so far.  Even with a deadline, I’ve found this to be a great deal of fun.  Maybe I’m a deadline kinda girl.

Hope you all have a wonderful Mother’s Day!
