This Fall has been crazy. Starting in September, we’ve been doing something almost every weekend. Most of it has been a lot of fun, some a little frustrating and really tiring!
October is always busy for us. I’ve come to expect that over the years. I always make El’s costume but, this year she asked if she could throw a Halloween party. We agreed and it seemed to go over really well. All the kids had a great time, ate lots of junk food and ran around acting like, well, kids!
The weekend before that, we attended an SCA event. As usual, I had several last-minute things to accomplish before the event. I had grand plans for finishing up a new dress and making something for El. (She’s growing so fast that she hardly has anything to wear!) I also repaired a friend’s shirt and then, the week of the event, I helped make a hood for a friend.
So this hood was for the King to wear during his Coronation in October. Embroiderers from all over the Kingdom contributed their talents, I’d volunteered to help out and was given the opportunity to put the hood and all the slips together. I got the materials on a Tuesday, actually got to work on it very late Wednesday evening and finished it in the hotel room Friday night.
I think it turned out okay, but I’m my harshest critic.
Hope you all have a wonderful week!
