Loss

We’ve just returned from a memorial service for the husband of one of Big B’s co-workers.  Big B has injured his back and been home from work the whole week but wanted to make it to the service to support his co-worker.

The service was military and those services are among the most painful I’ve ever attended.  I didn’t know the deceased personally, but I know his wife.  I kept thinking about her loss; her husband was her best friend.  He retired from the military early to become a stay at home dad so she could continue on in her military career.  They seem to have had a true partnership.

She has a great deal of love and support headed her way.  I know it won’t fill the place left by her best friend, but I hope it can ease her pain.

Hug the ones you love close, folks.
