Maybe this is a frivolous thing to be thankful for, but I’m thankful for coffee. Before you roll your eyes, hear me out on this one.
For a great part of my life, I didn’t drink coffee. I started drinking it every once in a while in grad school and, once I joined the work force, I really developed a taste for it. At the time, Big B didn’t drink coffee. Not regularly anyway. More like a, “Hey that might be nice but it’s kinda hot out.”
One morning, not too long ago, I asked if Big B wanted to join me in a cup and he said yes! My caffeinated little heart was overjoyed and thus started our morning ritual. We each get a cup of coffee and sit on the sofa together watching the news. It was a nice quiet moment before usually busy days but it was like our own little date.
Lately, Big B’s work has been crazy. He doesn’t always have the time to sit and chat in the mornings over our cups of caffeinated love. But when he’s not too busy, when we share those brief moments together, it’s the best. Coffee makes me happy, but drinking it with my best friend is the only way to really enjoy it.
